My Toy Passport Design Development
My Toy Passport is a start up company who came to us with an idea which we have been able to develop in all aspects of design.
I started with designing the branding of the company. From the initial meeting we had the idea of toy transport with a vintage twist to appeal to the parents rather than the children.
Further discussion with the client made us rethink the toy transport idea and come up with a fresh idea of a child with the toy, as this was the purpose of the product. We developed this idea with constant input from the client at every stage to check we were on the right track. The final design is an androgynous child skipping with his toy and suitcase.
We decided to go with an old classic style font in the end as we felt that this would suit the style of the company. We also created the illustration for the passport front cover.
After creating the branding and product illustration we moved onto designing the website. The client was kind enough to provide us with lots of information and based upon this we designed the website and hero image. The hero images are based loosely on the Art Deco imagery sent to us by the client. I did this by keeping the style angular and using block colours.
The website has a personal almost handmade feel to it as it is a small company with a unique product which is made specifically for individual toys.
