The Brief
Caroline Arthur is a couture wedding dress maker. The Caroline Arthur range includes both the bespoke couture service and also an innovative made-to-measure mix-and-match range.
We’ve worked with Caroline on the business’s online marketing for around 5 years, so we already knew her business quite well. Over that time we have designed and developed an image-rich bespoke CMS website, planned SEO campaigns, created an engaging blog and most recently we developed the ‘Design Your Own’ wedding dress application.
The ‘Design Your Own’ wedding dress brief was to create something that would form a bit of a buzz online, drive more traffic to the website that would result in more calls to the office. The application should allow would-be brides to design their own wedding dress from the available range, and needed to be easy to use and shareable via social media.
The Solution
The application look and feel was designed to compliment the Caroline Arthur mix-and-match printed materials and we created the 'dolly' to dress, in order to tie everything together. Once the users dream dress has been designed the bride can share their creation on facebook and twitter, bookmark it or send it to a friend.
The 'Design Your Own' application not only looks good but is designed around an intuitive drag-and-drop user interface. Further development will see this converted into a facebook application. Written from scratch using PHP, this bespoke solution can be enhanced and scaled over time as the collection grows.
Caroline now receives regular enquiries from the website which has seen a significant increase in traffic and in-bound links. The website also enjoys a good ranking on Google for a range of keywords.
