The Brief

The Sarah Aires experience is much more than a photography session followed by a purchase of prints.  Sarah takes the time to meet with her clients to plan how the photography will be used to decorate the family home.  Sarah’s work captures a moment and translates this into an investment to enhance the family home and to be passed down through the generations.

Our brief was to create a vibrant and visually exciting website to function both as a brochure website and blog.  Sarah was looking for a solution that looked very “designed” and wanted to avoid the obvious photography portfolio type solution in favour of creating a website that visitors would engage with.

The Solution

We worked closely with Sarah to create a website design and brand identity that truly reflects her business aspiration.

We kept the existing Sarah Aires logo and developed a brand identity following a number of workshops with the client. We worked together to produce a branding identity guide which incorporates all the colors and fonts to be used for both web and print.  All of the graphics were created in house using a photoshop canvas, the room settings were hand-crafted to ensure that they were completely on brand.

Having decided what functionality we needed to include on the website, we incorporated some of the latest web technologies available to us.  The website itself is built around HTML 5 yet remains backwards compatible with older web browsers. We’ve also utilised various features of CSS3 to deliver some of the more advanced styling and transition effects.  The entire website is built around WordPress to allow Sarah to manage all content in-house, leaving her self-sufficient.

For our new design, I was keen to have some ‘wow’ factor whilst also creating a place that would be warm  and inviting.  Kevin, my other half wanted something very ‘designed’ – a site that would entice, surprise and delight. We are really grateful to Zoe Brown, Christina and Richard from bweb for doing such a sterling job on the site and for putting up with our deliberations about cushion colours!
