b:web launched in 2004 and is owned by husband and wife team, Zoe and Chris Ashby. 20 years later and b:web is a team of talented web designers, digital experts and web developers delivering bespoke web solutions for national brands across the whole of the UK.

ZOE ASHBY
Md

Zoe has a background as a software engineer and has over 30 years of web experience, having worked in companies such as Brittany Ferries and Thomson Reuters.

Chris Ashby
Director & Web Developer

Chris has over 30 years experience of working as a web application developer. He initially worked for Thomson Reuters developing systems to integrate with the stock market feed in real-time, allowing Traders to make investments.

"I am very happy in my home office working on some of the more challenging b:web projects."

Chris works primarily on the backend of eCommerce websites, managing migrations and bespoke functionality.

NAOMI SMITH
Everything!

Naomi has been a core member of the b:web team since 2006. In that time she has pretty much mastered all areas of the business from web development to project management.

"I think I am probably more addicted to spreadsheets than my Mum (MD - Zoe)."

Naomi is primarily responsible for website builds, SEO migrations and the careful management of website launches. Naomi heads up most of our ongoing SEO campaigns and is also (probably) the quickest at "copy and paste" in the world!.

DAN WALKER
Head Of Development

Dan is completely self-taught in programming (and he never stops!). With over 20 years of professional experience, Dan's enthusiasm for all things web shows absolutely no signs at all of slowing down. Dan takes care of the more complex solutions that we build and is excellent at making coffee and bacon sandwiches.

ANDREW SCOTT
Senior Designer

Andrew is a "completer finisher". This means that if Dan, Chris or Naomi have a pixel out of place, a margin too small or a font wrong - it will be noticed!

Andrew is brilliant at translating client brief's and at putting forward our proposals so that our client fully understands all of the design decisions.

Xander Ashby
Apprentice

Xander is an awesome student fresh out of sixth form, about to start university.

We've stolen Xander to work for us between now and then. We've got them working on all the fun stuff like copying and pasting (under Naomi's supervision of course!).

We have been established since 2004 and our primary service has always been web design and web development. Three of the b:web team members, including our Directors, have been working with web technologies for more than 20 years each.
We are lucky enough to have worked with a really wide range of clients. We particularly enjoy working with like-minded business owners with whom our Managing Director, Zoe, enjoys discussing general business and entrepreneurial life. All of our clients tend to be at the top of their game and incredibly passionate about their products and/or services.
No, never! We thrive on having a team of talented individuals in-house who all have expertise in the different areas of web design, web development and UX. Plymouth is a great hub of talent and we work closely with Plymouth University to provide placements, mentoring and work experience.
We can work very quickly and could potentially design and build a quality small business website with all of the functionality you need in just a few weeks. If you have a tight timescale for your web design project we recommend that you let us know when you place your enquiry. There is no harm in you asking as we may be able to turn things around quickly for you.

We guarantee you will be satisfied that the initial mock-ups for your website design meet your brief. We guarantee this by preparing a full written brief based on your requirements and by offering to start the project from scratch if the initial designs do not meet the brief. We also don’t cap on our amends or revisions.

Our day rate is very reasonable, especially for a web design agency with 15 years of experience. Budgets for our small business websites can start at just 2k depending on your requirements.
We are happy to host your website and would highly recommend that you let us do so. We can also help you to register you domain names and set up email hosting. Our website hosting services can be combined with a website and security maintenance package which we highly recommend.
We offer 12 weeks post live support for bugs and issues with all of our websites. We also offer tailor made support for clients who wish to implement continued website improvements.
If you have an issue with a website that has not been designed and built by us, it is unlikely that we will be able to help you. Sorry, but this type of work can be very time-consuming and costly, so it is usually better to go back to the agency that designed the site for you to remedy any issues.
