Embed a Tweet

Occasionally, when writing a blog, it may be good for your readers’ experience if they can see a Tweet embed on the post. This way you can present information that you quote, in a snappy way, showing the Twitter branding. Here we will show you how to do that.

Luckily embedding a Tweet is fairly simple, but there are two ways, depending on which CMS you are using. An embed Tweet will look like this:

If you are using WordPress as the CMS for your blog / website then you will need to use a slightly different method to those using a different CMS.

Embedding a Tweet using WordPress

  1. Find the Tweet you wish to embed.
  2. Click on the three dots underneath the Tweet (as shown below) and then click on the option ‘Copy Link to Tweet’

  3. The link URL will pop up in a new box. Copy this (Ctrl & C).
  4. Edit the page or post in which you wish to embed the Tweet.
  5. Click the ‘Add Media’ button.
  6. Click ‘Insert from URL’
  7. Press Ctrl & V to paste the Tweet URL.
  8. Click the blue ‘Insert into Post’ button.

Embed a Tweet on another CMS

  1. Find the Tweet you wish to embed.
  2. Click on the three dots underneath the Tweet (as shown below) and then click on the option ‘Embed Tweet’.

  3. The code will pop up in a new box.
  4. Copy the code (Ctrl & C)
  5. Open the page editor for the page in which you wish to embed the Tweet.
  6. Edit the HTML (rather than using the WYSIWYG editor)
  7. Paste the code (Ctrl & V)
