December is here, which means three things for businesses: Firstly, Christmas is coming, secondly many people are taking time off later this month and thirdly, it is a good time to start planning for next year.
The Month of Christmas
As we are so close to Christmas, I’m going to make the assumption that you’ve already planned out the majority of your Christmas activity, however it is important that know the final date people can order from you to guarantee delivery before 25th December. Once you know this, make sure your customers know by publicising that date on your website, on your Facebook page (pinned to the top), on your other social media channels and through email marketing.
The Time off
As you may be taking time away from the office, it is worth planning out how to deal with website updates, emails and social media marketing. When it comes to website updates, you can generally prepare imagery and text in advance, so updates can be made remotely. Email marketing can be scheduled in as can social media posts. It may be worth installing the Facebook Pages app on your mobile phone to keep a track on any queries that come through your page.
Marketing Plans for Next Year
Now is a good time to think about, and finalise your marketing plan for next year. To help you along, we’ve created a free marketing brief questionnaire which will help you to see where you are and where you need to be. Once you have filled this in, it is important to run through your goals, how you can measure your successes and how you will execute the strategy.
It is also worth thinking about your website as part of it. If you have a non-mobile friendly website, you’ll need to update to responsive. You may also need to update your site to suit your marketing and sales goals for 2016. You can view our project brief form for web design and build projects here.
