Hydro Turf provides grass seeding and erosion control solutions to the aviation, rail, sports, construction and private sectors. Their process uses a spray-on mulch of grass seed suspended in a growth medium which is a fast and efficient way to create a grassed area.
They are based in Kent and had an existing website which, while functional, was quite out of date and in need of a revamp. Most importantly, the new site needed to work well on mobile as most of the client’s enquiries were coming from that route.
The client specified that, whilst the site should be visually attractive, using many of their images, it should primarily be a functional brochure site detailing all of their services in a way that would best appeal to their target clientele.
The Solution.

After our online briefing meeting, we designed a straight-forward homepage that primarily uses alternating 50/50 blocks of text paired with relevant images. This means that, for the client, the site can be easily added to without adversely affecting the layout and, for the visitor, all of the available services are instantly identifiable. The site was created in WordPress and designed “mobile-first” to ensure that it looks great on all mobile devices, then expanded to laptop and desktop views.
The inner pages combine video and image slideshows to communicate exactly how each process works and to show examples of previous projects in a visual way rather than by using a lot of text.
The client has also signed up to one of our new hosting and ongoing support packages to ensure that everything continues to run smoothly.
